Human beings seem to have had an interest in our origins, as well as that of the universe around them, since we first began recording our thoughts. And it also seems that we have been trying to understand, interpret and find meaning in our existence in correspondence with how we arrived here in the first place. And that’s the interesting aspect of it, people generally wonder how we got here, arrived here, not how we rose from the planet itself and evolved into who we are. And from early in our history it also seems there have been a select few individuals who became specialists in understanding not only the human condition, but stars and sky around us. We place the greatest faith in those scientists today who pull back the Next Day Blinds of the universe and peer into reality of our existence. And it should be noted that throughout history this has been part of the belief system for contemporary contexts.

One of the most profound, provocative and inspiring insights into our place in the cosmos has come from Nancy Ellen Abrams and Joel R. Primack with their book The View from the Center of the Universe . This is an incredibly comprehensive, yet readable for the laymen, book and the duo disciplinary approach makes it all that more dynamic and understandable. Abrams is a cultural philosopher and Primack is a one of the world’s leading cosmologists . This is quite an intellectually dynamic pair and the insights into our world, ourselves and beyond are inspiring.

One of the most impactful reminders this book offers is that fact that we are all made of stardust. This provides both a mystic invitation to greater understandings and mind enriching explorations, as well as to ground us at a very fundamental level of understandable reality. One of the most powerful ways of teaching any lesson is through abstract analogies and metaphoric associations. The eyes are considered to be the windows of our souls, and the windows to our houses hold the key to our personality and hospitality. It’s natural that brilliant contemporary philosophers and scientists are the Next Day Blinds to our cultural evolution. They open to various degrees allowing the proper amount of sunlight to cast shadows and highlights as they are necessary to our understanding. Regardless of your personal beliefs, this is an incredible exploration of our universe and our place in it. And it’s always a great reminder to accept that everyone, throughout the history of our species has held their own beliefs and ours are just a sign of the times, as was theirs.

The shoes of John Belushi were awfully big, and really much too big for any other human being on earth to fill. He was a Chicago man, through and through, born here and grew up here. The formative years were spent honing a remarkable genius capability at the Second City. This is still one of the great improv companies, and perhaps the most eminent one in the world, devoted to helping new comic performers hone their skills. Here, John learned what everyone learns at the Second City, working on timing, responding to the needs of the moment, and how to think quickly.

These are all gifts that seemed to come very naturally to the talented performer, and there was truly a great deal of fantastic raw material to draw from. But everybody needs to learn, and spending some time learning how to take the wild horses of inspiration and discipline them so they don’t run you over is a good thing for everyone. Perhaps it didn’t take with John, in the final tally, because it does seem as though discipline either failed him or left him. It’s hard to say.

For those who want to explore the great city and mine it for signs of inspiration that have fed comic talents for a couple generations now, there are plenty of options. It has its share of excellent hangouts and four star hotels. Chicago also has lots of comedy clubs where you might catch the next rising star.

The chances of someone filling those shoes, however, are zero. The only one who could ever come close was his brother Jim , who followed in some of the same footsteps, including Second City and SNL fame. He has found a comic voice that is very different than his brother’s, however, and has come into his own comedic identity, and it’s a wonderful thing to see. There are certainly other young talents out there with the same wild horses driving them, and perhaps the lessons of one generation might be passed to the next, if they’re smart enough to pay attention.

Who is Montel Williams?

18th February 2010

Montel Williams has been seen on our TVs time and time again, and it is time to ask ourselves, who is this man who stands so proudly, so boldly and discusses our fears of monetary well being with us, who did a talk show with us for years, who speaks his mind against the wishes of many, and who is not afraid to be seen as the spokesperson for various products. I have found a little bit of information on various unofficial sites, but it seems that the best information of all can be found on some of the sites he has set up in his career.

Montel Williams doesn’t do anything for a short amount of time and dedicates himself to what he does. After serving for twelve years in the military, he stepped down and took a job as a talk show host with a show named after himself. In the seventeen years he spent bringing guests on and discussing with them their problems, his show was eventually canceled. This was hard on him as he has dedicated his life to making the world a little better for the average person like you and me. He realized however that this was just the start of a new path and decided to find products he could stand behind and believe in. This is why he has promoted his own line of products called Living Well with Montel Williams. He feels that these products can really help you mentally, spiritually and emotionally live better. Finding his voice to speak on television again, this time as a spokesperson able to say what he believes to be true, he treated the infomercials he starred in, much like he treated the talk show he once hosted. This gave the two of them some connection beyond just him, and gives the infomercials a down home truthfulness that shines through, something you rarely see in such shows.

As time went on he found another product he could trust. This was a money lending service that is designed as a short term loan between pay checks. In deciding to sponsor this he found that part of it’s importance to him was that he knows that people find themselves in money trouble between pay checks sometimes, this was a product that could really help. I don’t know a lot about Money Mutual myself, but I can say that with the dedication Montel Williams shows to his products and his name as a brand and a spokesperson, I think I can trust them.
